Deante Hitchcock
This young dude's word play is RIDICULOUS and he talks about real shit. His latest project "Junkie In The Sun" is the kind of album that I can jump on the highway going to Louisiana and bump it all the way. He's from ATL and you can hear remnants of Andre 3000, T.I. and other Atlanta legends in his work, but he is still different from all of them. He has been rapping for years, and I admit that I was late to the party, but I'm here now and he is one of my favorite new artists. O.G. Big Mike
He's back and just as live as ever. Mike moved from Louisiana to Houston when he was young and we are happy to have him. There are not a lot of people who could have replace a Geto Boy and held up, but Mike did. His new project "Concurrent" is produce by Sir Jinx who is also known for making hit music with Ice Cube, Too Short, Kool G Rap, Yo Yo, Xhibit and many more. So far, every song that I heard was fire and O.G. Big Mike still knows how to play with a track like it's a Rubik's Cube as he contorts lyrical wisdom on Sir Jinx's infectious melodies.

Canda'Ce
This young lady is from Acres Home (Houston, TX) better know to H-Town natives as "The 44". Whether it's fair or not, I judge female rappers differently than I judge men. If you're a mother, I want to hear you speak about motherhood. If you're a wife, I want to hear you speak about marriage. Women are special in ways that a man couldn't dream to be, so I want to hear that in their music. Don't JUST talk about your ass, pussy, money and other bitches. Canda'Ce talks about her life and that includes EVERYTHING that makes her into the lyrical, smart, boss chick that she is. Her recent album "Act 2: THE PROJECT" was a hidden gem that I discovered earlier this year and I immediately recognized that she's a star in the making.

This guy right here just so happens to be my homeboy and NOBODY that I know personally has put in more work when it comes to this rap shit. His catalog of music is so deep that he continues to promote new music that I haven't even heard before...one deep. His skills as a rapper and an engineer have helped my grow into who I am over the years. He has built a career out of the mud and deserves all of the recognition that he gets. In Houston or overseas, folks who have been around the H-Town music scene know my nigga.
